Midkota Solutions First in Region to Launch Local Internet Video and Radio Network

Bismarck, ND (PRWEB) March 2, 2006 -- Eric Kubischta, CEO of Midkota Solutions today announces the upcoming launch of Midkota Media Services (MMS), an online network delivering local and regional Internet video, audio, television and radio content across a growing group of partner web sites.

“This network is the very first of its kind in our region,” says Kubischta, “For the first time, on a local level, producers of video and audio programs have a delivery system that enables them to reach a wider audience, generate greater advertising revenues, and reduce costs by leveraging automated technologies”

From a national standpoint, similar networks exist with national media companies and web sites such as the partnerships between NBC and MSN, CNN and AOL, etc. – But there really hasn’t been a similar network that accomplishes the same thing on a local and regional level.

Midkota is first targeting existing properties they manage such as FishingBuddy.com with outdoor related content from providers such the Total Outdoor Network, North Dakota Outdoors (ND Game and Fish Dept.), Why-Fish Radio and more. From there, they plan to expand into consumer driven content such as local network news, local music and art and even delivering live Internet broadcasts of sporting events, performances, and public functions.

“Imagine being able to not only watch local news over the Internet, but then jump directly to local music from your favorite group, watch a public government meeting, and then bring up your child’s school band concert that you missed the night before” – We hope to develop solid relationships with multiple organizations in order to consolidate and re-distribute this content quickly and cost-effectively.

“Advertising is key,” says Kubischta, “Internet advertising is growing at a faster pace than any other medium. For the first time, North Dakota businesses have the ability to deliver their already recorded television and radio commercial spots to an Internet audience, which in many cases represents a demographic that can’t always be reached with traditional advertising.”

It is estimated that nearly 70% of North Dakotans have access to the Internet with over 50% of those having broadband high speed access suited for streaming video.

Midkota’s goal by the end of this year is to be delivering over 1 million video and audio segments per month across their network. Utilizing hosting and bandwidth provided by Basin Telecommunications, Inc., plus custom developed software leveraging technologies from Microsoft and Intel.

“We are also experimenting with speech and video processing technologies that will automate the process of creating ‘searchable’ video including automated transcripts using voice recognition and video frame processing.”

Our goal for content producers: - “Make it easy” – Our tools are designed to ensure that getting video and audio content from production to the Internet is fast, automated and cost-effective. For web site providers? Easily add multimedia content to your site and at the same time grow your revenues without managing complex relationships with advertisers and content providers.
