Green Way to Turn Cartridges into Cash

(PRWEB) May 21, 2006 -- Martin House Hospice in Clifford is the charity chosen to benefit from the initiative, which hopes to collect used toner and inkjet printer cartridges and turn them into new ones.

Leeds printer cartridge recycling company, Cartridge Express Recycling Ltd, is running the scheme, with Wetherby’s A1 Insurance acting as a drop-off point for the cartridges.

Every cartridge will add to a donation which will be made on a monthly basis.

Cartridge Express director Michael Harrison said: “Donating these cartridges is an environmentally-friendly free way of raising vital funds and we are proud to be able to help the hospice.”

This process ensures that the 250 million print cartridges that were dumped in UK landfill sites over the past 10 years are reduced, thus protecting the environment for years to come.

Julie Henderson, corporate and events fundraiser at Martin House, said: “A1 Insurance has kindly agreed to be a drop off point for used printer cartridges.

“I’d like to thank both A1 and Cartridge Express Recycling for their support. If anyone can help us by dropping in their used cartridges to A1 Insurance, located on the High Street in Wetherby, it would be really appreciated’.
