Silicon Valley Consultant Teaches the Simple Methods of Computer Productivity

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) May 21, 2006 -- Dan Weiss, a consultant in the high-tech world of Silicon Valley, has taken his 25 years of programming, systems analysis, and consulting experience and refined his skills into a training program called Key Office Skills Training.
He noticed that in most of the companies for which he worked, the majority of office users learned the basic computer skills, but then stopped before learning the skills that truly made the programs useful.

"The average desktop PC has more computing power than all the rooms full of mainframes it took to send a man to the moon", explained Weiss, "yet when you look at how most people, including executives, use their computer, you see spreadsheets used to add up a few rows of numbers, presentations that look like ransom notes, word processors used as a glorified typewriter, and databases unused for even the most basic of contact management activities."

"More alarming than that", said Weiss, "high school grads and college students are not learning the skills that will get them the jobs they want and, if they do manage to get one, keep it."

"It is vital to have the skills that will make you the LAST employee any boss would want to lay off."

Weiss has developed a training program that concentrates the most effective and easy-to-learn techniques in a format that allows on-demand learning at the student's pace and timing.

Beyond the basics, more advanced trainings are offered in evening and weekend workshops, and he even offers a "Personal Guru" consulting program designed to give office managers and adminstrative assistants access to immediate solutions to urgent business problem-solving.

"We don't try to provide all-encompassing learning systems - you can find these in many forms - rather we aim to give the average PC user the tips and techniques that anyone can use that will really save time and make them a more productive student, business-owner, or employee."

Dan Weiss is the Founder of Key Office Skills Training in San Jose, CA. He has 25 years of programming, systems analysis, project management and consulting experience.
