Carolynn Duncan

Carolynn Duncan is a business consultant specializing in venture capital, high-tech entrepreneurship, process development, and micro-business. She is affiliated with FundingUniverse.com as a new venture consultant and works closely in the hi-tech, entrepreneur, and angel/venture capital networks in Seattle and Portland.

Previously, Carolynn was one of the founding directors at the Eastern Idaho Entrepreneurial Center, with the mandate to improve the economy of Idaho, particularly in the 16 counties from the border of Utah to West Yellowstone, Montana and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
 
Her work at the E Center included the development of a capital infrastructure (bank, angel, and venture financing), facilitating a technology transfer/commercialization process with Idaho National Laboratory, and collaborating with partners such as Epic Venture Fund, BYU-Idaho School of Business Management, Eastern Idaho Planning & Development Association, Idaho Workforce Development, Idaho State University, and many others.

While at the E Center, Carolynn structured an innovative consulting program from its beginning, teaching and overseeing more than 60 business & engineering interns and 200 student researchers how to consult 100+ clients in effectively creating business plans, market research, organizational consulting, and seek venture funding.

Prior, Carolynn was a founding member of four startup companies in marketing & web-based technology applications, worked as a consultant in the publishing industry, and has started and operated four "Hundred Dollar Business" projects, using $100 and 30 days to test and prove new models for bootstrapping new ventures.
 
She is an avid blogger and participant in the web 2.0/new media space, conceptualized and edited The Entrepreneur Story, a collection of startup stories from more than 70 entrepreneurs in 35 states and 5 continents.

 

Matt Pernichele

Matt Pernichele adds great experience to the venture consulting team with 15 years of experience in building new ventures.  As an entrepreneur, he successfully helped found and run three new ventures:  Brewvies Cinema Pub, Akoan Software, and Trail Creek Brewing.  He has a very well-rounded skill set from his big and small company experience in operations management, strategy, financial and managerial accounting, and marketing.  In addiotion, Matt has served on the boards of Intellix and Akoan Software.  Matt has an MBA from the University of Utah.

 

Frank Poulsen

Frank has an extensive consulting and business analyst background.  Previous to his position at FundingUniverse, Frank worked as an analyst in a joint venture between a regional economic development center and Epic Ventures, a regional Venture Capital fund.  During his time there, Frank was recruited to create a scalable business model within the automobile dealer industry.

In addition, Frank managed 6 consulting teams as well as personally managed consulting clients in areas of fundraising , organizational effectiveness and business sourcing.  He has had experience helping entrepreneurs in the online retail, BIO-tech, high-tech, real estate, automobile,government, and consumer-oriented industries. 

Frank earned his Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication, from BYU-Idaho.
