What Is LivePitch?

At LivePitch, early stage entrepreneurs have 4 minutes to pitch to a panel of experts and a live audience in order to:

1. Practice pitching.
2. Ask for and receive honest feedback.
3. Let the community know what resources are needed to move forward (partners, services, funding, connections, talent).
4. Gain visibility in the business community. 

The audience at LivePitch receives $100 of "fake money" to "invest" in their favorite entrepreneurs, with prizes awarded to both a panel and audience favorite. There will be 60 minutes of pitching, and 30 minutes for general networking.

How it Works:

Pitching Companies:

FundingUniverse will select up to 5 companies to present on-stage at the LivePitch event.  The presenting companies must agree to present in front of a panel of experts and a live audience with the expectation to receive feedback about the pitch, idea, and business opportunity. 

To be clear, LivePitch is not a fundraising event. Please do not apply to pitch or attend with the expectation that investment offers will be a natural or immediate outflow of this event. SpeedPitch, on the other hand, is targeted toward connecting entrepreneurs and investors. We will begin holding our trademarked SpeedPitch events in Seattle later this summer.

Audience Participation:
Attendees in the audience will receive $100 of play "Monopoly" money that they will use to "invest" in their favorite company pitch.  After all of the presentations, the audience will place their monopoly cash into their favorite LivePitch presentation.

Selecting the Winning Presenters:
After all of the presentations, 2 winning presenters will be announced based on the amount of "monopoly cash" that is "invested" (one by the panel of expert investors and the other by the audience).

Difference between Speedpitching Luncheon and Livepitch and Networking event:

Speedpitching is an innovative event created to help connect entrepreneurs looking to raise captial with local investors.  It is an intimate event in that it is exclusive to those entrepreneurs selected to present, investors and sponsors only (no attendees/audience/observers).  We plan to host a SpeedPitch event in Seattle sometime during September or early October.
